Urawa is hard to pronounce my man. Calling them the Reds is more than fine. That’s what us fans call them…and yes, I’m a reds fan. I get up at 3AM saturday mornings to watch japanese-language broadcasts of their J1League games. Haha. They haven’t won a Jleague title since 2006 when I was one years old, but they’ve won three AFC Champions League titles since, most recently beating Al Hilal in the final in 2022-23 edition. They drew 0-0 in Saudi and came home to a packed house of over 65,000 in Saitama and got the job done for the third title. There are actually a couple of pretty good players on Urawa. Number 3 made appearances for the japanese national team. Number eleven, Jose Kante, is a really good player. I really like him and although he’s thirty-two I do think he could be a half decent player from the bench in most European leagues. The number nine, Bryan Linssen, featured in almost every game for the Netherlands U21 back in his younger years and I believe he has a couple caps for the senior team. You may have seen him play for Betis in la liga and Feyenoord in the eredivisie as well. He’s thirty-two now and an essential piece to that team. I’m still struggling with the fact that we conceded two goals. One of the strengths of Urawa this season is their defense. They have been defensively rock solid in the J1League. Scoring has beeen an issue so it’s at least nice to see that problem alleviated. Anyways I’ve really enjoyed your reaction. Sucks it got blocked. I still hope you can post one or two ACL reactions a week here on patreon, especially if they are of my reds. You should see their home atmosphere. The Reds fans are nuts. They got drums, they got trumpets, they got horns, the whole crowd does that screech whistle thing that the Morocco fans did at the World Cup during critical moments to distract their opponents, they regularly bring over 50K to the stadium for league games and over 60K for bigtime games in international competition, the ultras make some of the most beautiful Tiffo you’ve ever seen… they annually come up short of the J league title, but they are annually at the top amongst the best supported clubs in Japan.
