Watchcast Schedule for December 2022

Greetings, Nextlanders! Hope you all enjoyed Star Trek month throughout November. For December we'll be returning to our alternating schedule between films and Star Trek, and we'll only be doing three episodes of the podcast this coming month as we'll be taking the final week of the month off for the Christmas and what have you. But don't you worry, we've got a couple of banger films for this month, as well as a couple of intriguing Trek episodes. Here's what we've got coming up!

Monday, December 5th: Michael Clayton (2007)

Both of this month's films are movies that were high up on Brad's To Watch list, and this pick in particular is something Brad had a burning urge to watch after finishing up Andor, the much-acclaimed Star Wars series helmed by writer/director Tony Gilroy. And while Michael Clayton is about as far from Star Wars as it gets, it is, for my money, Gilroy's finest work (admittedly I haven't seen Andor yet--that's my holiday watch project). Vinny hasn't seen this either, so I am thrilled to be able to show the guys one of my absolute favorite aughts movies.

Monday, December 12th: Star Trek: The Return of the Archons and Space Seed

The Return of the Archons: The Enterprise encounters a seemingly peaceful civilization run by a "benevolent" being named Landru... who intends for them to join his people. If you like reused Hollywood back lot episodes, this one's gonna be right up your alley.

Space Seed: The Enterprise picks up a crew of genetic supermen from the 20th  century... and their leader plans to create a new empire. A Very Important Star Trek Character makes their first appearance here.

Monday, December 19th: Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

It's a Decembula to Remembula! Brad's been itching to rewatch this one for weeks, and we're finally gonna make good on it. I adore this bizarre, lumpy movie as a work of pure, ridiculous passion, and I'm very anxious to revisit it with the guys. Get ready for horror! Romance! Incredible set and costume design! Questionable accents! And Tom Waits eating bugs!
