The Nextlander Watchcast 033: Freejack (1992)

On this week's watchcast we tackle a very dumb movie that is near and dear to Alex's heart in the Emilio Estevez/Mick Jagger future thriller Freejack. Come marvel along with us at all the janky tech, the insane plotting, and the goofy-ass battle gear they deck Mick out in.

The How Did This Get Made podcast episode about this movie is also great.

Rewatching this in the context of Nextlander, I couldn't help but think with the wild swings of settings how this could be from an FMV adventure game. Shotgun nun, motorcycle escape after Brad's betrayal, wine truck sequence, spiritual switchboard, etc. Very Burn:Cycle. I also feel like Johnny Mnemonic will have the same vibes with the disparate places it goes (and yes, I know a Johnny Mnemonic FMV game does exist)
