Schedule for the Week of 05/05/2025
Added 2025-05-05 19:03:31 +0000 UTCHere we are in May. It’s definitely not the entrance into May I was expecting. So let’s put aside the Giant Bomb and Polygon news from last week for a hot minute, which is still rocking our little world… (he says as he has about 15 tabs open related to GB). I’m spending my time between Hollow Knight, Clair Obscur, and wondering if Brad is going to have jury duty! Hollow Knight and Clair Obscur are fantastic, Brad being out for an indefinite amount of time with jury duty… not as much. With that said, our schedule might be a little up and down, but I’m optimistic so I’m going to commit it to this digital paper.
On Monday Will and I will be jumping into Revenge of the Savage Planet together! I don’t know too much about it honestly so I’m pretty jazzed to get in and see what it’s all about. Always love a good co-op experience. On Tuesday Abby will join us to continue our journey through the second half of Lost Records: Bloom and Rage. Then on Friday we’ll be back streaming… and maybe with Brad? We don’t know yet. We’re going to keep it open until we have more information.
We’ve also got some podcasts! We’ll be kicking off our celebrations of music films with Summer of Soul on the Watchcast on the Patreon this week. We’ll also have the Ramblecast, and NXL Podcast, as usual, along with a Planorama for May!
Also, Mike Mahardy and I continue our journey through Total Warhammer: Warhammer 3 with our evil campaign! I’m going to put that on the calendar for Thursday of this week, just to be safe but I’ll make it live as soon as it’s ready, so it could be earlier.

The Nextlander Watchcast
It’s a new month for the Watchcast, and with that comes a new theme of music movies! Not musicals, but movies about the creation of, and the scenes around, popular music. And kicking things off is the 2021 Questlove documentary Summer of Soul, a doc that unearths a treasure trove of footage from the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival featuring artists like Sly and the Family Stone, Nina Simone, and Stevie Wonder.

2025-05-05 20:28:56 +0000 UTCthis is almost certainly not feasible but it would be cool to have grubb or jan or dan (or whomever) on the podcast to talk about the giant bomb ongoings. like i said, might not be viable, but it'd be nice to hear from them and get their perspective! (if any of them are interested/ready/etc.)
