Weekly Ramblecast 211: Under the Dome

Two-thirds of this podcast are struggling under the northeastern heat dome this week, so we talk about that, Bob Saget, restoring classic Norm MacDonald films the way they were meant to be seen, lightning bugs, that original Star Wars print that just resurfaced, Clint Eastwood's directing style, and a whole bunch about bats.

Comments

Bob Saget didn't direct Half-Baked. He just made a cameo in it.

On Monday and Wednesday last week I stayed inside all day to avoid the 100 F heat as much as possible. In summer I’m almost always in shorts, unless I have to go to work.

I am of the complete opposite view when it comes to insects/wild animals. At the risk of revealing my tree-hugger tendencies, I love seeing all the life that spring and summer bring, even the giant hornets and huge spiders. Looking at all the pollinators jumping from flower to flower, all the "creepy-crawlies" going about their business, seeing the yearly cycle of wild life is so refreshing to me, especially after being inside for several hours at a time. A more positive way to put it would be kind of like: "look at all the life that is still possible, even within our concrete jungles."

I just finished Severance season 2 this week so the timing of this random spoilercast was perfect. S2 was fine but not great.
