Yahoo Radio was my way of hearing new music back in the 00’s. It was pretty good until the record industry’s lawyers started shouting about copyright abuse. After that, mainly video games and some streams. Newgrounds wasn’t bad for finding indy electronic music. Frankly, genres like Trap, DnB, Dubstep, and so on became my go to because they tended to be easier to find and listen to. A lot more youtube channels and indy games tend towards those genres as the artist there seem more ready to have more forgiving license. Outside that, it depends what I hear on youtube channels and games. I like some folksy stuff like Hardspace Shipbreakers and Dwarf Fortress (Steam Release) or the stuff Goat of the Black Pants Legion doing covers of folk (Roving Ramblers) and filk (Dawson’s Christian) songs.
