I watched Bring Her Back this Halloween too and it’s fucking awful, genuinely shocked Brad said he thinks it’s good. It’s not just lazy and rife with cheap contrivances and inconsistent characterisations, but it’s also just so... intellectually empty? I don’t know how else to describe it, it uses grief as set dressing, an excuse to enact a collage of awfulness on children, to trick you into thinking it’s this elevated thing. Something like Terrifier I can forgive because it tells you on the box it’s just schlock but this does the same shit yet lies to you for 2 goddamn hours as to its intent. Was disgusted by all aspects of it, the film itself and its construction. It’s genuinely one of the worst things I’ve ever seen to the point I think it should not have been made and reflects so poorly of where we are with media at the moment.
