Netorase Phone version 0.8: Going Steady

Hello everyone,

Version 0.8 is now available!

This version is mostly a "technical update", focusing on improving functionalities, and ironing out Part 1, from Act 1 to Act 6. It also includes the tendency system in the story itself, making you decide during a discussion with Laura if you want, in your relationship with her, to be Dominant, Submissive, or neither.

On top of that, it includes a complete rewrite of the Messages systems, to definitely remove soft lock issues... at least I hope it does. 😅

Sadly, I wasn't able to improve everything I wanted to, so expect future updates to keep adding things to the "early game experience".

I hope that, despite the relatively low amount of new content, this update will please you. As always, I'd love to hear your feedback and opinions.

Disclaimer: version 0.8 still has soft-lock issues, despite all my work toward eliminating them. They mostly happen at the start of a chapter. In order to let you enjoy the game anyway, I've re-enabled Memories, which will let you start each chapter individually.

Version 0.8.8 update notes:

Functionalities:

- Re-added Memories, all unlocked by default, until the soft-lock issues are resolved.

- Disabled the soft-lock prevention system, to avoid false positives.

- Fast Forward can now be used even when scenes haven't been completed before.

- Pictures app now list the number of unlockable pictures for each gallery (only when both Gaming Mode and Cross-run pictures are enabled).

Story:

- Added a Chapter 19 preview in Memories app.

Issues corrections:

- Corrected a few issues making the soft-lock prevention system trigger false flag, which would lock you into a loop of soft-locks.

Know Issues:

- Android version is very heavy. Unity refuses to tell me why.

Version 0.8.6 update notes:

Story:

- Re-added, following popular demand, a deleted X-Ray interlude.

Functionalities:

- Increased auto-save slots to 3.

- Auto-saving will now trigger once per minute at most.

- The game is not automatically saved anymore when the soft-lock prevention system is triggered.

- Improved Analytics to send more detailed error messages on soft-locks.

Issues corrections:

- Corrected a small UI issue an Android, related to hovering over buttons.

Version 0.8.5 update notes:

Functionalities:

- Added game version in System app.

- Added a scrollbar in Backups app.

- Enabled Analytics for Android.

Issues corrections:

- Corrected an issue creating soft locks.

- Corrected an issue making the "no more content" messages running indefinitely.

Version 0.8.4 update notes:

Story:

- 16 more pictures that had too many fingers were corrected, thanks to the surgeon skills of FlozelFlowsWell.

Functionalities:

- Added 5 more save slots.

- Added optional Analytics, that can be enabled from Settings. I'd love if you did that, as it would send me error messages as you get them, making debugging more effective.

Issues corrections:

- Corrected some interludes locking the game.

- Corrected an issue when loading a save from a previous version, displaying wrong prompts.

Known issues:

- A few prompts will stay on the screen after being clicked, until the next prompt.

Issues corrections:

Here's the complete update notes for version 0.8:

Story:

- Chapter 3 now enable you to select your Relationship Tendency.

- Added Chapter 5.5 between, you guessed it, Chapters 5 and 6.

- Added 3 new interludes

- Added 7 Life Goals linked to story decisions.

- 7 new pictures

- Updated a few pictures to make them more cohesive with the global art style.

- 12 pictures that had too many fingers were corrected, thanks to the surgeon skills of FlozelFlowsWell.

Functionalities:

- Save slots can be renamed when saving.

- When Gaming Mode is enabled, save slots now specify your current chapter, and current Relationship Tendency.

- Implemented a Setup Assistant when starting a new game, to let you change Laura's name. It can be started again through Settings.

- SquareGram app now display the user profile when looking at their page.

- Added an option in Settings to toggle fullscreen.

- Added a Life Goal linked to the number of pictures collected.

Issues corrections:

- Rewrote the Messages system to avoid soft locks and other issues.

Known issues:

- The messages system changes have caused old saves to be incompatible. But you needed to start a new game anyway. Profiles are still valid though, you won't have lost any pictures.

- Quickly loading two saves one after the other might cause a message to be displayed twice.

- Native Android Back button still does not work.

- Android version still uses a lot of battery.

What's next?

I will now start working on version 0.9, tentatively called "Experimentations". It will be a story-focused update, adding Chapters 19 to 21, and will release on August 20th.
