Turns out the local mastermind is a stellar illusionist who made the old throne room (in utter disrepair, he has no use for it) look rather nice and put together for people meeting βhis fatherβ when needed. The party might see it one way, then swap to a ruined version. The magic effects could be useful when his sister shows up through a back door to lend some arcanomecanical support in the event of a fight, she was always more an artificer. Now I just need to go look for some good catacombs they might flee to as a part II.....
