Ugh. I’m sorry, this page and the last were beautiful, artwork-wise, but as for the subject matter… I’m just going to say it: from my perspective, Rome is way too perfect, and I can’t stand it. Honestly, I almost wish we could go back to the old days when it was looking like Thakir might be Jahla’s potential love interest; even though I didn’t like the implication that Jahla belongs with her own kind, and that the idea of them together would make it seem like Rohgir was right about her having “no future” with a normal dog, at least *Thakir* actually has flaws. To me, Rome just seems like a typical “Gary Stu” character, and to be frank, it’s boring. It also makes Jahla look a little bit pathetic, imo; like she only wants a completely supportive, subservient yes-man for a partner, and so, she broke up with Rhov because he “dared” to actually challenge/question her, despite his love for her, and not just blindly go along with everything she says and does, like Rome seems to do with her now (especially since the reasons she said she liked/likes Rome are the same reasons she initially liked Rhov for; they both didn’t immediately turn her away for being different, and they both listened to her, helped her, and amused her, their personalities seem to be similar too, except Rome lacks the flaws that Rhov has/had, such as immaturity and arrogance… so it begs the question, why did Jahla even call it quits with Rhov, without even trying to work things out together, only to get with another male so similar to him, almost immediately after? Yes we know that part of the reason is because Rhov moved on with Feaf, but disregarding that… Could it be because one actually questions her, and the other doesn’t? Hmm…). Rome’s only flaw, that we’ve seen, was being too trusting and naive, like when he joined those abusive males in his old tribe; but I think even that can be mostly over-looked, as he admitted to Jahla that he knew they were wrong, but he just wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, upon first joining them, it’s not like he defended their actions or tried to claim that they were actually good-hearted and kind because they took him in. For these reasons, I don’t think I’ll ever support Jahla and Rome as a couple, as they’re just not at all realistic, in my eyes, and I find them to be very boring. I suppose that I can at least be glad that Jahla is finally happy, though. Still, I really have to wonder if she’ll start re-thinking her decision to be with Rome, the moment he finally voices an opinion she doesn’t like, or when/if he decides that he doesn’t agree with her on something she says or does, and calls her out on it, like Rhov did (if that ever even happens, that is). >.>
