The first one she got before I moved cross-country and after about a year she said "he needs a friend to play with so he stops needing attention from us." BIGGEST MISTAKE we could EVER have made cause that was NOT how it went down. Plus, we have two Brussels Griffons (dog from movie As Good As it Gets) and they are known as "velcro dogs" which means they CANNOT ever be left alone. We have to either bring them with us wherever we go or get a sitter. At this point it's a constant love-hate relationship with them. They are 4 and 5 years old. As someone who never had pets in my life, it was rough going in the beginning. My wife had cats growing up so it's not that much but velcro dogs. We also now have a son who joined our family at 10m old. It's been a lot.
