Meet Sorcha (soar-kah). She's a werewolf, combined with different traits from Irish werewolf lore. She is one of many werewolf warriors, who turn into "wolf-shapes" which is why I kept some of her human traits on her wolf form.
I was gonna have her be the kind of shapeshifter who puts on a wolf pelt to transform into a wolf, but I kind of also like the idea that she leaves her human body behind to become a wolf, so she can return to it later. Maybe I can think of a way to do both, since it seems like both are applied to the fianna.
Taken from the Werewolves of Ossory Wiki "In the Irish literary mind, wolves were particularly closely linked with the practices of the fianna, warrior bands of landless young men who lived for much of their time in the wilderness and were thought of as living in close proximity to supernatural forces. Warriors were often depicted with canine attributes and shared a common motif of a wild, dishevelled or naked appearance. They were frequently portrayed as wolves, hunting both animals and humans, and may have worn wolf-skins or a lupine hairstyle as part of a ritual transformation.[3] The wolf-warriors or luchthonn (literally "wolf-skins") were said to "go wolfing" when they carried out raids. Such associations may have given rise to Irish legends of werewolves. "
While living as a wolf, her human body can sustain injuries that her wolf form gets, but she can't die so long as her human body is still in tact.
But one night when her human body is disturbed, it makes it very hard for her to return to it. Kind of like a "spirit world" type thing. Only with werewolves. What do you think?
