New athletes models #1 (info about 2026)

Hello! As we said in the previous post, we are planning to work on global things in the game.

For a long time now, there has been a desire to rework the models of biathletes, which have not changed since the very first alpha version. It is not possible to edit the current models, since there are about 400 athletes in the game, each of whom is a separate model. That is, with the current system, if, for example, we want to add a sports watch to all athletes, then this needs to be added to all 400 models. Which would naturally take an incredibly long time, considering that all the models still need to be exported to the game.

We plan to make the new system more flexible for changes. Basic body types have already been made and a set of sports elements (boots, gloves, headwear, etc.) is almost ready.

We plan to work much more carefully on the textures and optimization of these models, so that the picture in the game is better, but at the same time the hardware requirements remain at the same level (or even become better!).

But not only the models. And also all the animations that are in the game! Yes, we are planning to remake them too. To tell the truth, we have no other choice in this regard, since the new models will no longer be compatible with the old animations. But this is good, the animations have also long needed improvement and reworking, since they have not changed since the first alpha version of the project.
