2017-10-29 21:59:26 +0000 UTCAlso, spoken language likely evolved in humans out of a need to communicate while hunting or guarding, activities that require vision and attention to to be focused elsewhere while information is being passed. Chemical signals propagate too slowly to be used in dangerous scenarios, and sounds propagate through our environment fairly freely with a low energy cost. If their psychic connection with plants allows them to send messages that way either telepathically or by manipulating the plants around them, that could be an even more effective way to communicate. With any sound they make being non-verbal.

So Heliodorans' word for themselves, especially if they are a monoculture with no previous contact with sentients outside of their species might not be pronouncible by humans.
