I have a few images I'm working on but rather than post them as a group I think I'm more likely to get something posted if I just do them as they get finished up. These aren't groundbreaking but I'm trying to get back in the mode of drawing regularly again.
This isn't anything to do with the drawing but my nephew had to have surgery on his tongue because the tissue that connects your tongue to your mouth was holding his down and causing a speech impediment. It wasn't a big deal, but I bring it up because I was born with the same defect. So apparently mom has passed on this predisposition.
The doctor just reached into my mouth when I was a baby and cut it open, which didn't please my mother, but it was a different time as they say. They used lasers on my nephew, which makes me feel a little slighted honestly.
Anyway, just some trivia. I thought it was interesting.
Tight tops do wonders for Bewb Physics. Always love seeing my fave Jess in the cheesecake/NSFW stuff. Nice work!

My son was born with a cleft lip and palate... even in '93 the surgery was still a bit hit or miss. Especially if you didn't have money and were relying on state insurance.
Nowadays they create a mouth appliance like a mold for the child to wear while small... it gently pushes the bone together in the right directions and eventually it's a fairly easy thing to close skin over what small gaps are left.
It was being done when my son was young but, again... not for people who couldn't afford it.

I love Jessica anyway (her quirkiness makes her a perfect match for Jo) and she's got just enough underboob to pull this off successfully.
A girl I went to elementary school with had a cleft lip (not the whole palate). Plastic surgery in the late 1950s was hit-or-miss so she had a scar all her life. I ran into her at the grocery store a couple years ago and there wasn't even a mark on her lip -- she'd had it redone properly. Fortunately, neither of her kids inherited the trait.

I had my tonsils removed back when it was a fairly common procedure. Since then( ~1990) apparently there's a change in attitude towards doing this.

My nephew also has some sort of speech affectation, and we're not sure what causes it. I'm not sure it qualifies as a speech impediment, but he speaks less clearly than other kids his age. Also, lovely drawing.

Very lovely piece, and interesting that what happened to him happened to you as well. And I can empathize with that feeling you have with the surgery thing.
