Ive come to a wildly random realization about The Last Unicorn, loosely related to your upcoming Will Gibson unit. I stumbled upon some very compelling, if a bit stretched parallels, between the four heros of the film, the unicorn, Shmendric, Molly Grue and Prince Lir, and the four main characters of Friends at the Table's cyberpunk noir mecha season Counter/Weight, AuDy, Mako, Aria, and Cass. Both four member groups concist of: *A stoic non-human person with questions of selfhood, who undergoes a miraculous but traumatic metamorphasis *An aloof but whimsical magicy guy who's constantly cracking jokes and playing fast and loose with his power *A woman, sadder and older than before, who is desprately holding the last shread of hope she has, and weilding it with a deep passion. *And the scion of a waining kingdom, wanting so badly to help but not knowing how. (They also have the exact same haircut which is what spawned this whole idea) Do with this info what you will. Hopefully it makes it back to Austin so he can bask in this silly but poiniant truth about his art. Cheers.
