I’m excited to share a new interface that’s currently in development. The goal of this post is to gather as much feedback and as many ideas as possible so we can shape it into the most user-friendly and useful experience it can be.
The interface is heavily inspired by the “Quick Insert” module, but its content source comes from Moulinette Cloud and the assets you’ve indexed with Moulinette. This first version is a proof of concept that currently relies only on the game-icons.net data source, but it will soon be expanded to include additional sources.
The new interface is available starting with version 2.0. Feel free to share your feedback and ideas for improvements in the comments or on Discord.
Thx
Sven
The most common use of Moulinette is to quickly search for images to enhance a scene, whether it's tables for an inn, trees along a road, or a campfire in a forest. The new interface offers a faster and lighter way to search for content and drop it onto a scene. Again, note that the new interface is very minimalist and only searches content from game-icons.net. It is a proof of concept that will soon be expanded.
In many places throughout FoundryVTT, you can choose an image to represent an item, ability, macro, and so on. With Moulinette Quick Search, you can quickly search for and select an image—far faster than with the usual FilePicker.
When the FilePicker opens to choose an image, press CTRL+M (the shortcut is configurable)
Perform a search, and select an image
The image will be downloaded automatically, and its path will be filled in directly within the FilePicker.
