Fairly certain it was all to cull numbers rather than enforce rules. Just look at the marble game. I'm sure it would work, just depends if the others cooperate enough given they're playing it as a zero sum game

2021-10-23 06:08:47 +0000 UTChmm, maybe not 100% appropriate topic, but since i forgot to mention it during the actual episode and i've been mulling it over for some time, one idea i had to try and "cheat" the glass jumping game would be to try and test the glass panels before jumping on them. would i be able to or be allowed to create a device that would allow me to figure out which panels are safe? i've been thinking something like take the shoes left at the starting area (sure you have to be barefoot, but no one says you can't take them with you). next fill them into your jersey and make sure the shoes can't fall out of it. you now have an improvised hammer (as the ones used in hammer throws). spin the jersey for some extra speed and slam the hammer on the glass panel in front of you. unless i miscalculated, the weight and momentum should be enough to break the glass if it isn't one of the treated ones. or you could try use something else with enough weight and hardness if you aren't allowed to take the shoes. this of course solely relies on how much wiggling room they allow, but i don't see it going against any of the established rules: "you have to be barefoot" and "jump on the panel of your choice to cross over".
