Added 2023-08-27 15:10:17 +0000 UTCYO WHY DOES NO ONE ON THESE SHOWS JUST LET THEM CRY IN PEACE LMAO!? They ALWAYS draw attention to it 🤣. Though in this case it wasn't super egregious I guess. When it comes to Home Run, I got so protective over these dudes so quickly lol, which is 100% down to the fact that we get to see their process which always makes me more empathetic, but the critiques were actually quite fair in all honesty (though I still maintain that they could have had a more balanced and well-rounded review that would have helped the boys more). I still thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
I'm no expert obviously and I'm biased because we see the show from the boy's perspective, but I really do think that there's a point where excessive negative critique stops being productive when you're also ignoring the positives. I guess an argument can be made that it's to prepare for the fans/public, because that's how the fan/public gets down normally, but that doesn't mean I have to like it lmao. I actually hate the state of critiquing art and performance nowadays. It's very systemic at this point and there's no reason to hold it against individuals unless they're particular bad about it (which none of the judges are on this show imo), but it's just one element of many that I feel contributes to how toxic the industry can be and I KNOW it can be better because I've seen it (there's literally examples of borderline perfect critique in this show-) so I often get on my soapbox about it but it's really not that serious at the end of the day, as long as the health and wellness of the performer is the priority alongside the art.
