I think Duane would be reacting very differently if he'd become more involved in the town in the past few days; if he'd met with the locals more, seen more, learned more about the closure and the ill feelings it had fomented. But he remained fairly isolated with Sette and the Frummagems, and then even more removed from all of this by his lengthy khert-trip and that hellish finale underground. Don't look for him to swoop in and play hero. This will unfortunately remain at the periphery of his attention, registering mostly as Cresce Being Cresce.
Quigley, on the other hand, has a real connection with the Ripas. He'd probably stay and help them fight or escape if they asked. And, ya know, if Rahm wasn't currently being a treacherous jerkface.
