He and Duane both were assigned their own hounds by the temple, but neither had that special bond that Toma has with Pantoffel. Toma raised Pant from a puppy and she was his family dog long before he ever joined the Peaceguard :)

Do Duane and Lemuel appreciate their dogs like Toma & Elka do with Pantoffel, or are they just tools to be used? Lemuel is close with his vliegeng right?
