They are in Fachlyne, in the heart of the Weeping Plague quarantine zone. The plague doesn't enter into the story yet so I didn't really want to distract from the current goings-on with an establishing shot of a place that has no bearing on the story right now, but they are definitely in Alderode, in a boarded up old restaurant. Bastion has little hidey-holes like this all over the continent.

There are Plat Saelit! We'll meet a bunch of them next chapter, Duane had a whole nursery school of them under his command in the army.

He seems to care about Elena (I was going to suggest Desiree, or Linnette but was too late). And she seems to know a lot about him. She is more than just a prostitute to him, yes? Anyway, I like her. I hope we see her more. And I'm fascinated by Fachlyne. Can't wait to learn more about it and about the plague there. (Are there any Platt Saelit?)
