Knock's characterisation honestly owes a lot to various barfly friends my mom had when I was growing up. They were rough, crass, loud, very interesting ladies who always put their friends first. Not deep thinkers, but always up for a good time. I think people like that are more important than we give them credit for.

I've loved knock since she watched Settee Iain action at the Nevergreen and said "I love her." Then when Anna reminded her Settee had inflicted some damage on her the night before, she said, "I had it coming." (Or something along those lines.). No matter how nefarious some of her actions, I recognized there was a heart in there somewhere. Besides, she's a sister in (cup) size. We busty ladies need all the support we can get. 😏
