Minnow does understand consequences but she's one of the few. She's put herself in contact with humans in a way her kind finds disgusting and demeaning, and she's seen how fragile and temporary they are. That's really why she likes them. The senet beasts never forget a sin; never forget a mistake. But humans forget and forgive, and even if they don't they eventually die and take the crime with them. Humans also change. They're not stuck in stagnation like the senet beasts.
But yes, it's a weird and almost fierce sort of compassion and interest she has in them. And some of their concerns - like their mortality and their fear of injury - she can't fully understand.

Minnow IS having a good time. Perhaps you did it deliberately Ash, but one of the cool things that came through in this series of pages is when you combine radical healing ability with wild water folk, even someone as "friendly" as Minnow do some pretty radically violent things. But... since they heal instantly... it only looks that way to outsiders. I'm curious if this unconsciously impacts her character in other ways. Would someone with her make-up really understand "consequences?"
