Added 2018-02-06 08:00:49 +0000 UTCSomeone on tumblr asked how much planning I do for scenes, and I thought some people might be interested in seeing my gesture drawings? Usually before I start thumbnailing a scene I'll quickly sketch from the script like this, see if anything catches my eye. There's a scene I'm working on now where Sette goes full bloodhound and I find with the broader characters like her that if I don't warm-up first I draw them way too stiff!

Not just design, because anyone can draw a cool monster for a one-off portrait, but your ability to make things like efheby and grotesque images like Murkoph's loosened skin seem like they came right out of a life drawing is endlessly impressive to me. There's no sameface or samebody among the "basic" human cast either. I love seeing the process behind how you make this world come to life in comic.
