One of my favourite things to think about with Duane is where the monster ends, where the man begins, and which is worse. 'Cause I don't think Duane is in Hell at all. I think he's being given the chance to learn things he never would have learned in life, and to become a better person from all these experiences. Not that it'll be easy. Not that he'll let himself realise how fortunate he perhaps is.
Not that he won't just blame Sette for not keeping track of the time for him/for tricking him outta Sharteshane/for dragging him all the way west. You suck, Duane! Own it! It took me like an hour to do that painting of the Queen and you set it on fire and now I don't even get to reuse it!
