The thing about Vampire - and the thing that's going to frustrate everyone and get me a lot of anger by the time we're done - is he is so ancient, skilled, and acutely aware of himself (after all, how well would you know yourself after 300 years?) that we can not and will not ever be able to determine his sincerity. So maybe he's being literal here. Maybe he's playing a role. Maybe he's merely exaggerating.

2019-09-13 20:04:01 +0000 UTCThe execution is a nice side effect for sure. The true power of the curse is it completely wipes out almost everything Roger did in life. All his supporters will now hate him and his beliefs and his cause will be tainted by association. I can't think of a better way for a government to unravel a revolution than to have everyone suddenly and universally agree that it's #toxic.

2019-09-13 16:31:09 +0000 UTCThe Etalarche Curse, via the Dammakhert that affects the minds of all Aldish people (except for the blonde souds like Duane) changes how a person (in this case Roger) is perceived. When the curse takes effect, every single Aldish person who sees Roger will hate him with all their heart and happily try to kill him. It's a sort of crowd-sourced execution
