The khert has an unmistakable sea theme, hearkening to the underwater beginning of all life and the weightlessness I feel would accompany disembodiment. Lots of sea life to gobble wandering memories and turn them into the compressed, fractal sediment that composes the timeless khert's swooping walls and spiralling floors. I wonder how many times Lady Ilganyag has had to peck Duane out of them after he's wandered into something's mouth.
