It's such a painful irony that he can't see that these girls have as little to do with their nation's politics as did his own daughter. Children are always victims of their circumstances (well, we all are, but most kids lack the agency to effect any kind of change at all; even to their bedtimes). Poor, daft, brainwashed Duane.
