2019-04-04 13:54:58 +0000 UTCI guess I shouldn't attribute the scholarly influence on them so much to outside influences from older academics of longer lived races. I had it in my head that the longer individuals of a society live, the more that age drives them to try for some kind of historical immortality. Living a short life might make that sort of legacy look impossible, and seldom pursued. Or I could be entirely backward and wrong. :-)

Everything we've seen in comic and in short stories implies an extreme amount of reverence and respect for ancestry and those who came before, right down to their names. Keep in mind these are little children, literal child soldiers, in a war zone. The plat villages have actual, you know, adults, the ones who make the children (and/or raise them).

Would they mature enough to have that drive to record what they learn as a people, and build upon it? Or might it be the basis of a hyped up lord of the flies? Live fast, die young, and have little idea what came before you?
