Our friends on this page are referencing all kinds of events we've seen in past chapters. Masek's "bad thing" is the assassination of Queen Sonorie's sister by a gang of two-toes. Of course we know that was arranged by Nary Frummagem and Jab Beadman, but it doesn't take much to kick off a rage-bender between humans and lizards. Masek will elaborate more on the consequences of this when he gets back to his family in a bit.
And Minnow talking about the shrine guard being killed by Alds? Wait, we saw that, didn't we? She must mean the remains of that river battle that our heroes stumbled across, with all the dead Crescians and Alds. Explains why Minnow was there gathering up their dog tags and leaving them where they could be found - she probably knew some of them.
Still very weird that Alds would be all the heckin' way out here though.
