After her father unexpectedly dies, young Ella (Lily James) finds herself at the mercy of her cruel stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and stepsisters, who reduce her to scullery maid. Despite her circumstances, she refuses to despair. An invitation to a palace ball gives Ella hope that she might reunite with the dashing stranger (Richard Madden) she met in the woods, but her stepmother prevents her from going. Help arrives in the form of a kindly beggar woman who has a magic touch for ordinary things.

My favorite live action remake! One that i'll rewatch now and then because it just has so much heart and magic.. i prefer this version to the original animated one, which is impossibly rare for me, since i dislike so many of the live action remakes, hah

2023-09-21 16:35:59 +0000 UTCI love this one, if not seen it yet Cinderella (1997) is also really good live action (its a musical one) with Whitney Houston also the one Prime done not that long ago is better than thought would be too (with Camilla Cabello) is also good. My favourite one however is Ever After though has been since kid and seen it.

Personally, I prefer the live action over the animated and for me this is my favorite live action remake that Disney has done so far, with The Little Mermaid following behind as a close second.
