Unrelenting Love
Added 2022-01-11 12:00:04 +0000 UTCOne thing I’ve noticed is how we’ve tried to shy away from emotion in certain churches. It’s almost as if we think that somehow detracts from knowledge based informational aspects of our faith.
God made us with all these parts, though. And removing emotion is a huge mistake, in my opinion. The Bible is filled with emotional things that stir passion and make life worthwhile!
This set of verses is highly emotional. For me, it set my heart back On Fire when I was feeling dry and discouraged. And not once, but many times. If I ever feel like I’ve lost “it”, I come back to this set of verses:
Revive me
Refresh me.
Help me and hold me! For I am lovesick!
I am longing for more-
Imagine Jesus cradling your head and holding you close. Imagine the rest that He brings. FEEL it. It will bring you back to your first love.

In what ways have you noticed the shying away from emotions in church? I could definitely see the flip side where pastors are increasingly using radical themes and messages to spur compliance with the word
