The Passion Translation Bible has such rich insights into things I’ve read so many times. (If you need a copy, I’d love to send you one. Just let me know!)
I’ve read about Jesus’ miracles so many times but as I read in Mark 8 about his healing of a blind man, the Aramaic can be translated “Jesus placed his hands over his eyes and brought light.”
Another time Jesus healed a man with his saliva which in those days the saliva of firstborn sons in the Jewish culture was considered to have power to heal infirmities. Jesus healed the man with his saliva. Later, wicked men would spit on him in public. Jesus told the healed man not to tell others, but he did. Jesus tells us to spread the good news and we don’t.
Such interesting thoughts this provokes.
The longer I live, the more I see the state of the world, the more I don’t really care if I’m seen unfavorably for sharing the good news. Life is too short to be safe. Jesus is the only one to bring light and heal all our broken places.
We need His light. I pray for our eyes to be healed and to see the light.
