He loves you STILL

“Come as you are” is really good news.
As Pastor Rick Warren pointed out, when you have a broken bone, you don’t wait for it to heal before you go to the doctor! You go to the doctor because you need to be fixed.
I think it is interesting how much I’ve heard people say that they will work on themselves before they consider God. I don’t know whether that is ego, pride or confusion. Maybe all of those!
Or, we can be Jesus followers but we have areas of our lives that we feel we need to fix and we leave out God. Sometimes it’s sin that separates us and makes us feel unworthy to ask God yet again for help. Sometimes it’s ego saying “I can do it this time” ….never mind failing the last 900 times!
“God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:8 NLT
God is not asking us to be perfect. He is not asking us to follow every single rule so that we can earn His love. He accepts us when we accept His promise! That is it. Accept His great love in all the areas of your life….the hidden, ugly and secret areas….yes, He loves you still. It is His promise. He is love so He gets to make the rules :)
