Glorious Light

Good morning

I set out to have a certain attitude about things and then realize how many times and in how many ways I fall short. Dang that flesh! It is so easy to let sneaky attitudes creep in and muck things up.

My friend and I have been doing an old Bible Study that I wrote and videos I made that go with them. Very few people have watched the videos or read the material…….and that hasn’t bothered me at all! Funny thing is that I usually have this acute level of awareness that most of what I do is my own processing and whether anyone relates to me is entirely up to the Holy Spirit.

In this Bible Study, we have realized the “resolve” step is most difficult. We can pray and plan but in the end, if we don’t resolve and act, not much changes.

I then read this verse and it set me straight once again.

1 Peter 2:9 TPT

But you are God’s chosen treasure —priests who are kings, a spiritual “nation” set apart as God’s devoted ones. He called you out of darkness to experience his marvelous light, and now he claims you as his very own. He did this so that you would broadcast his glorious wonders throughout the world.

We are God’s chosen and made to be His very own. He called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. I did notice that He did not drag me, pull me, push me out of the darkness. He called me. Do I want out of the darkness? In my head I will always say yes. Does my heart always agree? No. And that is because the heart is deceitful above all things. So, I have to always check that and see if my heart is right. If it isn’t, His grace is enough to set it right again and once again patiently bring me into His light.
