Incredible Love

I finally started watching the series The Chosen after many recommendations from people. I am into the second season right now. One of the things that has been fascinating to me is how much the people of the Bible "come alive."
Somehow, even with all of my times of reading the Bible, I still set the disciples up on a pedestal and think of them as being different from me. In the series, the characters are developed and you can actually see things in a more tangible way.
For example, I can see now why Peter would strike that soldier and cut off his ear. Defending Jesus was part of his feelings of duty. But, his passionate actions also could be used against him.....when he denied Christ. However, Jesus had already captured his heart. Even with his faults, Jesus looked at him with so much love and Peter could and did redirect his passionate actions toward good.
My favorite part of the series, though, is watching how the actor who portrays Jesus looks at people. The incredible love, patience, compassion he shows through simply looking at people......that is why people fall in love with Jesus. The actor does a marvelous job of showing us that in a more tangible way. Imagine actually being in Jesus' presence! .......
AND THAT IS THE POINT!
We get to experience that every day and in every moment if we want. He looks at us with incredible love, patience and compassion. Always and in every single way.
“However, God is rich in mercy. He brought us to life with Christ while we were dead as a result of those things that we did wrong. He did this because of the great love that he has for us. You are saved by God’s grace!” Ephesians 2:4-5
