Spiritual authority

Good morning!

Spiritual authority is overlooked by many. Some have twisted and mixed it with pride. Most undervalue it.

Why is it so important? Because in this world we live with a constant battle going on in the spiritual realm. We often act like we are living only physical lives but the spiritual dimension is much more vast and powerful than we can imagine. It is within this arena that battles are won or lost.

While we act like we are fighting against people, we are often fighting agents…..the people may not even know they are being used as a tool by the enemy. It is far easier to forgive people when you think about the energy force behind their actions. Yes, we are accountable for our actions, but how many people are deceived? And then we compound the problem by getting all wound up and fighting in a way that isn’t helping the problem.

As Chuck Kraft says, “spiritual authority is always a by-product, never something to be sought for its own sake…..a leader seeks to know God. As we grow in our experience with and obedience to the living God, the only true source of spiritual authority, we find our own spiritual authority growing right alongside.”

I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you. Luke 10:19
