2023-03-28 19:03:29 +0000 UTCI’m definitely my own worst critic. I’m a pick yourself up by the bootstraps kind of guy, which is not good. Like you mention although I feel that’s what I need but if I’m not seeing change with that approach I’m probably harming myself more than helping.

If we came from a very rules based or even harsh background our mind is trained that way. I had a good balance. My father was ex-military and believed in regimen, and discipline, but he had a fun loving heart also. My mother was a sweet country girl who believed in play and exploration. So my self talk style has always been kind but determined. Bill is correct that the Holy Spirit and understanding the heart of God is the best way to change that. I love this topic Sis! I can't wait to hear more.

2023-03-27 13:25:48 +0000 UTCYou always get me thinking 🤔. I am a harsh interviewer with myself. Why? Perhaps it’s fear. If I go easy on myself I am afraid that I will slink off into nothing. I feel that I need to keep pushing myself and not give myself a break… ie: being a task master to succeed. Alas, it can be exhausting! Can I change it? Wow! Perhaps with continual monitoring. There is something appealing about being kind to myself 😊. Please help me Holy Spirit 🙏. P.S. I told you I would get back to you about your gratitude video 😉. I have been trying to thank God and to be grateful for every situation He puts me in. I may not like what is happening, but it is all part of His plan for me.
