Good morning!
Our daughter sent a video that I found so interesting. Research shows that HOW you think about stress is way more impactful than the stress itself. People who thought of stress as something bad to avoid had all the health problems and the higher mortality rate. People who embraced stress and reached out to their support systems or provided support for other people became more resilient and courageous.
A stress hormone, oxytocin, comes along with adrenaline and is heart-protective, repairing and anti-inflammatory! Think of the wonderful Creator’s design in putting a healing hormone alongside adrenaline to protect us. BUT, we have to choose how we think about stress! If we choose to feel like victims, go into despair mode, fall into a pit and seclude ourselves….well, stress damages us. But if we choose to see it as an opportunity to connect to people….help them….get stronger…..well, we get stronger!
Isn’t it amazing that oxytocin, the happy hormone, is also considered a stress hormone? If it’s put to good use, it will enhance our lives!
How amazing is our God to have designed us this way!
