Good morning!

There is a topic I’ve thought about a lot. It has been misconstrued in society but it has the most beautiful effects when embraced. It is submission.

Society has used different ways of describing it and portraying it from a self-centered and somewhat twisted perspective, but I have always thought of it as fascinating.

Submission requires a trust in the one to whom you are submitting. If the one who is in that position is a tyrant, unloving and uncaring, then it is basically slavery. When the one submitting trusts the one whom they are submitting to, they wholeheartedly accept the “no” answers because there must be a good reason for it. They know that their best interests are in the hands of the one who loves them and cares for them.

In light of this, it makes perfect sense to me that submitting to God is a good idea. Why do I resist it sometimes? Maybe I doubt His goodness at times. Maybe I think I know a better way. Maybe for some people the religion they grew up with painted a different picture of God that they just can’t accept.

But, if we truly get to know the God, the Truth about Him, then we would be crazy not to submit to Him. He is love epitomized! What other God would lay down His very life for His people? I’ll tell you Who! The God who knows that we are fallible, corruptible and need a Savior! But, the most amazing thing is that He gives us a choice. To truly love and submit requires a choice…otherwise we are back to slavery. And God won’t have that. He wants our free will choice of submitting out of Love!
