no delay

Good morning!

The “delay or defer” mentality has snagged me more than a few times. I notice it creep up at times and in lots of insidious ways.

Today as I was praying I realized how I can often defer things until “tomorrow” that could easily be grasped today…in fact this very moment. It would require a shift, of course, but why wait until tomorrow? Because delaying things can be an easy out. This mentality can kick the can down the road endlessly! But, if I notice something in my spirit that is trying to make a positive shift in me, then the time is now for that to happen.

There are a lot of things we think can be solved “tomorrow” or on the first of the month, the first of the year, Monday, or any of the so-called “new start” markers we sense in life. But, I have a feeling if we counted the next minute as a perfect opportunity for a fresh start, we may see a whole lot more progress in our lives!

God is always gracious and this is not about performance….this is about realizing that every moment is a precious opportunity to live in the fullness He came to give us. We don’t need to wait for some artificial, mysterious moment in the future when we will finally be motivated, have more energy or have more resources. We have what we need to start right now.
