Good morning!
As Oswald Chambers says, “May Jesus’ life be worked out in us exactly like it was worked out in His life while here on earth. May our human flesh be kept in perfect submission to Him, allowing Him to work through it moment by moment.”
As I look at the world and all that is going on AND those who claim to be Christian (including me!), I wonder and ponder about what it would look like if we went through our days the way Jesus did. Sometimes religion puts on airs of superiority that put off those who are deemed “sinful.” In that way, we are not being humble nor are we opening the door to true peace and love. It is no wonder that many have rejected religion. In many ways, we do not act like Jesus.
The world needs people who live and act like Jesus. That is really the only way that anyone will desire a relationship with Him. Through the Holy Spirit, followers of Jesus have the ability to allow Him to work through them to love others as we love ourselves.
I pray that we each introspect and ask the Spirit where we are not acting like Jesus and that He would increase in us the love that He has for people.
When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves.
Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others.
In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.
Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit.
But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing.
