“I am amazed at how much the church in America can accomplish without the Holy Spirit.”
This was something said by a Chinese believer who visited America.
Wow.
In that oppressive environment and through the underground church, they are more aware of the Holy Spirit and their dependency on the Lord than most believers in America.
We are willing to stay complacent when eternity is at hand. There is no sense of urgency and we don’t often step out in faith. Timidity and fear curb our enthusiasm for what we could truly believe if we really thought about what God has given us!
We don’t have to despair, though. We can adjust this at any time. First, by becoming aware we can see where we need change. Second, by calling on God to show us a new way and trusting Him with the consequences, as the late Pastor Stanley said.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened…….how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! From Matthew 7

It’s easier to ignore the symptoms and pretend we have it all together than to face the fact that without the leading of the Holy Spirit to guide us to confront the spiritual conflicts in our world, we are just sheep being lead to slaughter. I choose to partner with the fullness of the Trinity and act in the empowered grace of Christ to help change the world around me.
