Good morning!

As I sat looking out at the rain pouring down outside our patio windows, I was all-of-a-sudden flashing back to last February when we were having all kinds of water related issues here. That all came on the heels of my husband’s surgery and I remember that overwhelming feeling.

However, over the course of the year, the blessings that came from that include: a beautiful relationship with my step-brother who quickly came to our rescue with two of his boys. I loved that he said “this is what family does.” That by itself brought me so much comfort.

We also got to know some of our neighbors who quickly jumped in to help….or should I saw jumped ON! One sweet neighbor scaled up the side of our steep roof to check for damage as I prayed for angels to surround him!

We met and enlisted the help of another handyman neighbor who has since come to my rescue several times over the year.

And, last but not least, my stepdad wholeheartedly came to help fix any remaining things. And I always get the fringe benefit of seeing my Marm again!

Looking back, I know we always have that benefit of hindsight to get a clear perspective. But, I am intentionally paying attention to how God not only works out the details but He brings people together for solutions…..and so maybe the next time I can see in advance the potential in the difficult situations of life!
