Good morning!
How often do we put human mindsets onto God, I wonder?
For example, do we assume God must be angry with us if we get distracted and forget to talk to Him? Do we think that if things aren’t going right in our lives God must have forgotten about us/angry with us/teaching us a lesson….?
God is God and we are not. We have to be careful not to assume that He thinks like humans. We can see His ways throughout the Bible but need to also not zoom in on one thing out of context. That’s what we tend to do a lot…..zoom in, get offended or get off track by not looking at the big picture.
Jesus said we could see the Father by looking at Him. He walked this earth the epitome of love. He was not a pushover, but He knew how to see people and into their hearts. He could discern wrong attitudes of the heart. He could extend mercy and love to all kinds of people while still convicting them to turn and go in a better direction for their lives.
The more I discover about Jesus, the more I can get a better idea of how God is. This will be an ongoing process because I think we will always have some level of projection onto God from a human standpoint. We are so incredibly fortunate to have the Spirit of Truth to continually work in and through us!
Aren’t you so glad that God isn’t a human? I know I am!
As the Scripture says, “Who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been able to give him advice?” “No one has ever given God anything that he must pay back.” Yes, God made all things, and everything continues through him and for him. To him be the glory forever! Amen. Romans 11:34-36
