Good morning!
A friend called me to share his testimony one day. It was an average day for him but one of many frustrating days at work. He manages people which means he deals with a lot of personalities. He ends up working long hours and sometimes it catches up with him, as we can all probably relate!
He had heard a message that I had recorded related to not letting stress and anxiety “stay” because of how toxic it can be for our bodies and minds. When he went to work he was able to pass on the peace of God to the person he was speaking with because he had found peace in that “letting go and letting God” mindset.
It can often be considered trite. I often wonder what does “letting go” even look like? I know for me I need something tangible to DO. Letting go doesn’t give me a TO DO that I can wrap my head around!
But the act of saying things to myself or out loud that I know are true is tangible and it helps me in the “letting go.”
For example, I will say, most often to myself but sometimes out loud:
I know You are working ALL things for my good, God. ALL things. Yes, even this irritating, frustrating situation. You are working it for my good and I believe that. So, I am just gonna trust You like a little kid. I am going to shift my focus off this problem now because I have already talked to You about it and now I know that You will handle it.
Or~
God, You are sovereign. That means that You are in control of everything. You use some things that feel bad for building strength, reaching people who wouldn’t normally be reached, shaving off my rough edges or any other things that I don’t comprehend. So, help me to see You at work and not get in the way! Lol
You get the idea.
We have to remind ourselves continually. It would also be good to have people in your life who remind you of God’s goodness. So many times they will rescue you through some word that picks you back up again!
