wait

Good morning!

Sometimes all there is to do is wait.

Right outside of my mom’s (Hi!  It’s Thalia writing today☺️) window in her prayer room, there has been this bird couple building a nest.  We have been watching them making their journey with just a small straw and have seen the accumulation of their work.  How often is that us?  Working hard moment after moment, but it feels like no one can see it.  Over the past week, the eggs in the nest finally hatched!  Four little baby birds chirp day and night for their parents to come bring them some food.  I’ve been watching them day by day.  It may sound silly but I like to think about what they’re thinking.  “When will I get to leave the nest?  When will I be strong enough?  I want to be able to catch my own food.”  One of the days after the mom came to feed, one of the babies stood at the edge of the nest.   It started to flap its wings like it saw its mama do, but nothing.  Now, I know that if those little babies made it out the nest, they would never make it!  The wind will catch them or some critter might get to them.  But they don’t know that.  All of this has made me think about how this situation is how God is working through us.  We’re the birds, and God is me in this scenario—the careful observer.  A lot of times we are in places that we want out.  We see the effort we put in every day and wonder when it will pay off.  We have wishes of greater things for ourselves, but we are not in that place yet.  Let me encourage you to find peace in the waiting.  God still sees you and He is working through you.  He is with you in the waiting and He is preparing you for all that is to come.  If God only gives His children good gifts, then we do not need to be anxious in the waiting.  Think of a child on Christmas Eve.  They are not sitting there thinking, “What if I get tricked and there’s no present?”  No!  They are imagining and dreaming of all the exciting possibilities.  I believe that is how God wants us to be.  Expectant in the waiting.

Thank you for stopping by Thalia. You are wise beyond your years. This is very deep thinking and observations. As a person who wants to climb back in the nest the older I get, I guess I should cherish the waiting. We humans are vessels. Excellent message!
