I admit I've been on a WoW break this summer. Don't get me wrong, Legion has been one of the strongest expansions of the game in my opinion. Suramar alone was a masterpiece in terms of detail, immersion, and storytelling. But after I settled into the LFR grind and the alt grind and the World Quest grind in late 7.2, my interest, well, ground to a halt. I drifted to Heroes of the Storm, reading more books (seriously, pick up N.K. Jemisin's The Stone Sky,) and obsessing about Game of Thrones conspiracy theories.
I was about to cancel my sub when patch 7.3 landed. I was going to give the new content a pass, but thought I should at least check out the in-game cinematic everyone was talking about (Thanks, Terran Gregory, really). And before I knew it, I was sucked back in. And I know I'm going to be sucked back in at least through BlizzCon, which will get me even more hyped for whatever is next.
Patch 7.3 has brought me back to WoW with its new content to explore, beautiful graphics, and new advancement paths. Has it done to the trick for you? Or are you spending your time with your new buddy the Arch Lich in the Nexus instead?
