Watching Blizzard: You won’t believe what happened next!

If you follow Overwatch League, you know we’re back for week three tonight — and you won’t believe what happened in the epic showdown between the Dragons and the Dynasty. Or maybe you will, because the Dragons lost. The only surprise is that they put up a good fight and managed to win the final game… if not the match. (You can watch it yourself, and the rest of the night’s games, on Twitch.)

I’ve been making fun of the poor Shanghai Dragons and their ongoing losing streak — they’ve yet to win a single match — but it’s getting hard not to root for the this bottom-of-the-league underdog. They keep trying, and at this point I kind of want to see them succeed. Maybe they’ll fare better in their match on Friday against the Fusion. 

League matches kick off again tomorrow at 4 p.m. CST, so tune in. 

Unless you don’t care about Overwatch esports, in which case I apologize for rambling. Let’s take a look at today’s news, or, as Mitch has been repeating today, “News doesn’t happen on Wednesday.” (Spoiler alert: News happens on Wednesdays.)

The Beatles of voice acting

• I’m not entirely sure what that means, but according to Rolling Stone, that’s what the Overwatch VA team is.
• Also they’re just pretty ridiculous people IRL. (I mean that in the best way, though.)
• And don’t forget that time Symmetra arm-wrestled Thor.

Heroes of the Storm buffs, nerfs, and teases 

• The latest balance patch hit Sonya and Sylvanas hard, but it also buffed some previously nerfed heroes.
• And the Heroes team continues to tease us about who’s coming to the game next. Our hopes are on Maiev, but the Heroes team does love to mislead.

Back to the Battle for Azeroth

• In the first Dev Watercooler we’ve had in a while, Blizzard runs down the class design philosophy going into the next expansion. The goal? To push class uniqueness.
• About those Allied Race unlocks… Wowhead has a great tracker to tell how close you are to unlocking each Allied Race, but Orynx reminds us that this is all subject to change. Let’s hope they don’t turn into a longer grind.
